Nobody wants to have to deal with lice in their house (ever), and I was so relieved to get such excellent service from Lice Charmers. Margaret was fantastic! She was friendly, efficient, and full of helpful information. She is GREAT at what she does! We're relieved to have taken care of the cooties, she helped us to know exactly what we needed to do at home, and she advised us on the best way to avoid future problems. I cannot recommend Margaret enough!

My daughter got denied going to overnight camp since they found lice. We had several incidences at her school this year but we thought we were in the clear. Lice Charmers were able to see her same day in the morning. The Portland location seems like it's in a sketchy building near the railroad tracks and with a lot of vacant offices. Once we entered the suite though it looked like a clean barber salon. Shayna the lice charmer was great. Professional, courteous, knowledgeable and good working with my 8 year old. She also offered a signed letter asserting my daughter had been treated and was lice free. The camp asked for it so I was glad to have it. I would recommend Shayna and Lice Charmers if you find yourself needing professional help. At $225 though it's not cheap.

We had a great experience! My kid found out last minute she had lice and was terrified of missing out on sleep-away camp. On a sunday afternoon, i was able to easily book a last minute appointment for 5pm. The technician was awesome. Explained everything and really put our minds at ease. She offered to check me as well during the same appointment. Turned out i had it too. She was able to work me in during the same appointment. Great experience! 2 thumbs up!

Kids share the grossest stuff and I'm incredibly grateful to Lice Charmers for helping us with this particular unwanted gift within hours of discovery so our lives could get back on track. They were able to take us within an hour of me calling for a large family appointment, already an incredible feat. All of us were able to come together and get checked very thoroughly so we could be confident who needed treatment. For those who needed treatment, it was easy and it came with a 60-day guarantee so we could leave with confidence. My young kiddo wasn't bothered at all and Melanie was so great at showing them each step so they knew what to expect and felt included in the process. The clarity of information was also so impressive - much better than googling and feeling overwhelmed and frightened. The space is clean, kid friendly, and calm with only one client booking at a time for privacy. Definitely highly recommend if you find yourself in need of a quick solution so you can move on in life confidently - with kids, that's totally worth it!

Still had lice after 2 weeks, they don't honor their guarantee and I'm not sure it even fully worked in the first place.

Two weeks later they refuse to honor the guarantee because a babysitter who has not been in our house for more than a month wasn't checked. Quite the scam to charge hundreds of dollars, guarantee satisfaction, give an incomplete treatment and then demand more money when it fails
Response from the owner:Sorry to hear that, but if your babysitter was not checked, then we couldn't have given you the guarantee since it requires everyone in close contact with the household gets checked and cleared. As it says on the form that was signed at your appointment, on the service contract signed before the appt, on our website, and as our technicians tell everyone we treat. I believe we offered to give you the guarantee if you had her come in after you called two weeks after the initial appointment - that you chose not to do that is out of our control. If she has lice, there is a very good chance it's going to get back to you. I strongly suggest you get her checked regardless of if it's with us or another company, so you aren't risking getting it back.

Absolutely under no circumstance should you waste money with this complete and total rip off of a service. Went for a treatment. Did all the post steps. Didn’t work. Went back for retreat…. Had to pay for exams…… one month later….. back again but guess what…. Now they want me to pay for it AGAIN. What an absurd scam save yourself the time and money
Response from the owner:Hi Jacob, We treated you on 7/12/25. Then for free under our guarantee on 8/22. We provide one free retreatment appointment: checks and treatment for everyone at your initial appointment. We are the only company that covers reinfestation and treatment failure for 60 days. There are 41 days between 7/12 and 8/22, so no other company would have even provided the free retreatment you got as they only cover you for 30 days. After reviewing your phone conversation behavior with my employee, we won't be able to work with you in the future.

Do not call these people to help you they are a rip off, I thought I had lice and I did not and I still got charge for a full treatment almost $200 for 15 minutes of somebody telling me I don’t have lice and I was charged the full amount anyway! The technician that came over was very nice I got to admit that but I should not have been charged. I would’ve gladly paid a inspection fee and time for travel but the full amount……. really

We dropped the ball on communicating to Jack what our minimum was for an in-home appointment and he was justifiably displeased. Thankfully, he called to let us know and after listening to his side and reviewing the phone call we reached a compromise that all parties are happy with. I hope he considers updating this review, but... we all have a lot going on right now, so no worries if not. Conor
I came in originally to have a removal and grab a take home treatment, totaling $250 after adding a tip. I was told to re-treat 9-10 days later at home which I did. I also treated my husband with the oil I purchased here. Two weeks later I found more lice in my hair and called to have my second free treatment only to be told that this was not an option. The second treatment is contingent upon having everyone in your household physically seen by them (an extra $40 per person) which was not explained to me. The website says "checked or treated" but does not clarify that they are to be "checked or treated" in the clinic. Taking their oil home and treating does not count for this condition. Since I purchased the oil, I was told that I could come back if I was reinfected and it would be "no problem" to get it taken care of. I even made sure to ask about the terms of that agreement and was not told I would be turned away for this reason. So now I am out $250, unable to work until I find a way to pay for another treatment from the grocery store, and feel let down by being told something false. When I called and pushed back about this I was told, "You were treated by the one of the owners. They know the conditions and explained". I bet they do know them, but I did not. Just very disappointing and I would recommend saving your money
Response from the owner:Hi Hattie, it looks like there is still some confusion after our phone call, so let's try to clear that up! Our guarantee terms are outlined in our service agreement, which you signed before your appointment. Just to make sure there wasn't a communication error on our side, I spoke with your technician Lex, and she said she let you know verbally multiple times that we couldn't give you our guarantee even though you were buying product to treat your husband at home. He was not checked or treated by us and unfortunately, we can't guarantee treatments people do on their own because we have no way of verifying that it was successful. As we discussed over the phone, I'm still happy to look at photos of what you found or to schedule a check to verify that you have an active case of head lice and not dead nits. It would be a shame if this were all a false alarm because of some dead nits. Helpful info for anyone else reading this: Leftover, dead nits are expected after a treatment and are not a sign of an active infestation. Removing all dead nits is extremely expensive ($800-1400) because of how long it can take (4-8+ hours) and since it's not necessary to treat head lice, we do not offer that service. We have a handout at all of our clinics that covers this info to prevent confusion.

My only complaint for this service is the cost. Not super affordable when you have a family of 3 needing it, although I can't say how they compare to other clinics. Aside from that, everything was great. We were scheduled to be seen within an hour of calling. Sydney was wonderful and so kind and patient with our two year old when she struggled with the process. All around a good service to give you peace of mind and quick removal if you can foot the bill.
